I bring warmth, honesty and compassion to my work empowering individuals to draw on their strengths while helping them toward personal growth to live rich, meaningful and healthy lives. I have extensive experience providing treatment for anxiety, depression and trauma based symptoms. Many of my clients are dealing with big life events such as career changes, relationship concerns, parenting, divorce, grief/loss or need a space for exploring creative endeavors and self-exploration. I am also experienced in the fields of addiction and recovery, and work well with people affected by the substance use of a loved one.

There are many paths to healing. Everyone has a different path toward self-growth. Therapy can be a useful tool in getting to the root of challenges, gaining insight and finding healthy ways to navigate this ever-changing world. I believe in the resiliency of human beings. We work to discover and help strengthen the resources you already have, develop new coping skills and help guide you to new strategies for meeting life's challenges. My approach incorporates integration of evidence based treatment modalities and a holistic-health viewpoint taking into account mind, body, emotional and spiritual aspects. The work takes in account each person's needs incorporating verbal, creative and non-verbal techniques to navigate life's challenges.

When therapists bill to insurance companies, they are required to provide a mental health diagnosis. This diagnosis becomes a part of your health record. Without insurance, a diagnosis is not necessary to engage in counseling. I like this method because I believe that diagnosis and labels are not always helpful or necessary. People are always changing and evolving. As a cash pay client, you will have the freedom for you and your therapist to determine how you want to use therapy instead of having your care monitored and determined by insurance companies.
If you have taken the above information into consideration and would still like to work with your insurance, I would be happy to provide you with a session receipt that you may submit for reimbursement

Here are a few ways consulting/teaching/facilitating and psychotherapy are different:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have
insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical
items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total
expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes
related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and
hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate
in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.
You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you
choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or
service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith
Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
